A Book by Zvi Tadmor and Michael Slatkine
The book “Rehovot – Living in a Painting” is intended to present the beauty of the city of Rehovot, which was founded in 1890 as an independent agricultural colony by Jews full of faith and vision in their return to the Land of Israel and in its construction. In the streets they planted thousands of acres of vineyards and almonds, which later gave way to orchards, transforming Rehovot into the “Citrus City”. Later on, from being a pioneer in the field of modern scientific agriculture it has become today an international science leading city with a Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry working in the prestigious Weizmann Institute of Science.
The book can also be viewed on the website of the city of Rehovot. The municipality of Rehovot has printed about 5,000 copies of the book for distribution to the city’s educational institutions, cultural centers, and tourism centers as well as to people who wish to explore the beauty and value of Rehovot as a pioneer Zionist settlement in Israel.
